The Price We Pay for Paradise: Manatee Bliss Years ago, Preston Larimer, an inspiring biology teacher at Principia High School stated simply to his students: “ There’s a price we pay for paradise”. He was referencing some of the challenges our students had during their overnight stay with thier Mayan host family in the jungles of Belize. Sometimes the very richest experiences in life are found by enduring a few inconveniences and discomforts. The most interactive manatees we had this year was during the coldest morning of our trip as an arctic blast hit Florida. The manatees were approaching us from all angles, a day I will never forget with bluewaterventures.org.
