The Priest at Home Keeps the Family United Bible Verse: Joshua 24 Joshua was a very well known leader who led the Israelites into the Promised Land. His life record was perfect – his relationship with God was solid, his zeal for the people was unquestionable as he stood beside them through their weaknesses. His famous quote "as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD" (24:15) not only display his full responsibility as the priest in his household, but that he was fully in control of the affairs of his home. The spiritual atmosphere at home is determined by the priest in the family. Yet often many fathers fail to do their jobs as the spiritual leader. In that case, God will raise other family members to be the spiritual leader until the fathers return to Him (just as He did to Deborah when there was no male who was able to rise to the occasion).
