The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a double fatal collision in Landover. The crash occurred just as the snow started falling today. While the snow hadnt begun to stick to the roadways, the road was wet at the time. Preliminarily, it appears the wet conditions and speed played a role in the crash. On January 21, 2014, at about 11:10 am, patrol officers were called to the 2700 block of Pennsy Drive for a crash involving a car and a taxi. A passenger in the car died on the scene. The driver died at a hospital. The taxi driver suffered non-life threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation reveals the taxi was heading northbound on Pennsy Drive and the car was traveling southbound. For reasons which remain unclear, the car lost control and crossed into the northbound lane, colliding with the taxi. Anyone with information on this collision is asked to call the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit at (301) 306-5640.
