The Private Hotel School recently participated in an international event, Dubai, U.A.E. It was the 32nd annual EuroCHRIE conference and the conference provided a platform for more than 250 delegates from over 50 countries to discuss cutting-edge research results in tourism and hospitality education, to learn about educational issues and to develop professional networks. A special segment to the programme entitled “Charting the Future: Hospitality and Tourism Education in Africa focused in particular on matters pertaining to tourism and hospitality education on the continent. PHS suggests that to move forward positively in tourism and hospitality education, research needs to be conducted on a more frequent level to investigate performance problems and to suggest solutions; that there should be more collaborative relationships between institutions; empowerment of people through quality tourism and hospitality education and more active involvement in EuroCHRIE on the African continent.
