The Promise Land The 2nd Sunday in Lent, A, Purple/Blue Genesis 2:15-167; 3:1-7, Psalm 32, Romans 5:12-19, Matthew 4:1-11 “‘Indeed God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:17 Saving the world, A tall order! Certainly not through the, ‘Foolishness of preaching’ Rather an ‘Act of God’ Coming forth from the unmitigated love thereof Into a life of named of accepted acceptation Living past the notions Of everlasting punishment, Or worrying about what waits on the other side, Choosing to live into salvation, Dealing with the wonder of a salvific mind set and life style So then the saving power of God, Comes to rest upon us, Calling us to repent of self-centered living Becoming a paragon of justice and mercy Praising God for taking condemnation off the table Living the life of one saved, How very nice! “For the promise that he would inherit the world did not come to Abraham or to his descendants through the law, but through the righteousness of faith. If it is the adherents of the law who are to be the heirs, faith is nulland the promise is void.” Romans 4:13-14
