“The Prophet” and “In Divine Lap of Nature” Tremendous comments by Martin Joseph 1. The Prophet First of all let me appreciate Zillur Rahman Shuvro for his courageous attempt to write on Islam and the Prophet in a new angle. It is impressive. I can understand his emotional attachment with the historical power of Islam. Without analyzing the truth of history we cannot blame a religion or its commandments loosely. (If you will throw your stones to the past then the future will be welcome you with the machine gun. That is the theory of life.) Whenever a social revolution starts, the society will be prepared to receive its final result. Human brutality was at its darkest peak on the Arabian vast land, barbarianism ruled the entire continent. It was necessary to bring a change. The earth was waiting for a savior. Then Muhammad comes down from the mountain of Herat. And he led his army to fight with the darkness. When a single person comes to the forefront of the society to lead, he should be as much pure as the water and sky. He was pure in every terms and he won the war. Bloodshed was a necessary for the operation.. Islam may be said to begin with the Hijrat, the departure of the prophet Mohammed from Mecca to Medina, in AC 622. Mohammed died ten years later. Some time was spent in consolidating the position in Arabia, and ... Then those astounding series of events took place which carried the Arabs, with the banner of Islam, right across Central Asia in the east and across the whole North African continent to Spain and France in the west. In the seventh century and the beginning of the eighth, they have spread over Iraq, Iran and central Asia. In the AC 712 they reached and occupied Sind in the north-west of India. Nobody can capture the whole of human mind only with the might of sword. A best part of the world now follows and peacefully living under the flag of Islam. They are not the terror makers or terrorists. But the truth is Islam has provoked by the preplanned opposition based on the religious terms. Nobody wants to touch those basic differences. That is the tragedy. 2. In Divine Lap of Nature -- A visually composed form of poetry. We can pass through the images he created; Your open invitation to the girl has mostly touching the classics of Omar Khayam. But I could not understand that what the image of Helen of Troy, maybe it’s only a beauty concept. Whenever you adapt lot of symbols in a single poem, even there is no any connection between each other, it will create a crowed in mind. So we have to put the ideas in a very calculated framing. But very brilliant attempt.
