The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, also said: He who does not show mercy to others, will not be treated mercifully. [Al-Bukhaari] The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, further said: If you show mercy to those who are on the earth, He Who is above the heaven (i.e. Allaah) will show mercy to you. The Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, said: He who has no mercy towards younger ones, and does not acknowledge the honour of our older ones, is not one of us. [At-Tirmithi] the Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, used to eat and talk with his servants. He also used to advise people to take care of them because they are our brothers. We must feed them from the same food we eat, make them wear the same clothes we wear, and never overburden them with things that are beyond their ability. His servant Anas Ibn Malik, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: I served the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) for ten years, and I swear by Allaah, he never said to me any harsh word, and it has not come to my attention that he ever said about something I had done why I did it, or about something I had not done, why I had not done it. [Muslim] Al-Aqra Ibn Haabis saw Allaahs Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) kissing Al-Hasan, may Allaah be pleased with him, the son of his daughter Faatimah, may Allaah be pleased with her. He said: O Messenger of Allaah! I have ten children, but I have never kissed any of them. Thereupon Allaahs Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam) said: He who does not show mercy (towards his children), he will not be treated mercifully. [AlBukhaari]
