The Prophet (saw) said, “Two blessings, many people are at a loss regarding them: health and free time.” [Bukhari] Whats the most common phrase we are hear nowadays I am bored right? In light of this beautiful hadith of the Prophet (saw) a muslim should never be bored. Why? Because they understand the value of time. They understand their time on this earth is limited. They understand that death can come to them at anytime. This is why al Hasan al Basri had said “O son of Adam! You are nothing but a compilation of breaths, so every time you inhale and exhale, a piece of you is lost.” The believer is strict with his/her time. They want to spend their time pleasing Allah swt, spend their time in the remembrance of Allah, spend their time understanding the Quran. Its not possible for a muslim to be bored. The knowledge of this religion is vast, that if you were to spend a lifetime studying, it would only give a little back. How much Quran have we memorised? How much Quran have we studied, understood and contemplated about? How well do you know the Seerah of the Prophet (saw), His life and His beautiful teachings? SubhanaAllah these are questions we should constantly be asking ourselves and when we do, we will come to the realisation that we know nothing in the grand scheme of things. I ask Allah swt that He makes us amongth the people who spend thier time seeking His pleasure and I ask that He joins us in the companionship of the righteous in this life and the hereafter. Ameen
