The Qualities of Conservative Positions Almost invariably, when conservatives speak out publicly it is in reaction; it is defensive; it offers feeble apologetics; is often evasive; sometimes it is distracting; and frequently it is an exercise in avoidance in regard to the main argument. Affirmative, coherent positions based on fact are but rarely presented by conservatives at all. Argumentation is principally to challenge and fend off. It usually entails feeble efforts to refute, repudiate and show supposed error. Silence is also a response, especially when presented with undoubted facts. Conservatives have their own self-reinforcing media, their own bogus think tanks, to feed them garbage research and defensive talking points, and they talk mostly to each other. They are great nit-pickers with too little to say that matters. The key reason so many conservative positions are unreasonable, ill-informed and indefensible is they are intended to support the interests, often economic, of their networks and alliances above all, so that facts are much less important or dont matter. Those networks and alliances are often tied to the unreasonable wishes and demands of the Oligarchy. Conservatives derive their perceived security from those networks and alliances. Facts matter little to them. They often know they are mistaken factually but they dont care as long as they remain well networked and aligned with other supporting conservatives, although they can become quite resentful about matters when pressed. These circumstances make conservatives look quite silly much of the time when they speak. Recall conservatives have relatively dominating primitive brains focused around the amygdala so they tend to be fear driven and derive their security in large part from networks and alliances of interests with other conservatives, also tied to the Oligarchy. This is why arguing the facts of an issue with conservatives has little impact. They will take the network or alliance position or interest regardless because it assures their own security and prospects. This is why middle and lower income conservatives vote against their own apparent economic interests much of the time. Being properly networked and aligned is more important to them as they perceive and understand matters. The likes of William F. Buckley is a long forgotten memory. We have devolved down to networks and alliances of the lizard brained minions of the Oligarchy. Raw political muscle is all that matters now and money has been made king.
