The Queensway Tunnel, the Hitch-hikers Guide.... Liverpool, England. The Queens Way Tunnel was constructed between 1925 and 1934. During it’s construction no fewer than 17 of the men working on the tunnel were killed. The tunnel, which links Liverpool with Birkenhead, is said to be haunted by a female hitch-hiker. She has been seen on numerous occasions in timeslips which have apparently shown her in the future as well as the past. In the 1960s a young woman riding as a pillion passenger on a motorbike fell off in the tunnel and died from her injuries. Since that day the woman’s ghost has been seen by hundreds of motorists, including the Tunnel Police, standing in the middle of the road trying to thumb a lift. There have been many reports of drivers swerving to avoid the ghost and several have crashed, sometimes resulting in fatalities. The young girl has also been reported to have appeared in the back seat of several cars passing through the tunnel. When she appears she asks for her father saying he will be worried if she doesnt arrive home soon. An old-fashioned police vehicle has also been seen in the Queensway Tunnel at all hours in the morning, and there have been reports of a futuristic vehicle overtaking cars at high speeds then vanishing into a section of the tunnel wall.
