The RMS boys soccer team had their first REAL test today vs a strong Birchmount team stacked with imports. We were down 2-0 early in the first half and lost our composure a bit. My hope was to make it at least 2-1 at the half and a complete team effort with a great finish by Tyler Travis gave us that all important goal just before half time. I calmed the boys down, made sure they all knew who the better team was and sent the starters out to start the second half. With the wind at our back and the momentum on our side, team captain Bryson Bordage scored a distant goal from inside the halfway line. Tie game. At the latter part of the second half, of which we totally controlled, I sent in a few lads with strict instructions - score. With just inside 3 minutes of regulation, Jordan Stevens made a great effort with an even better finish for the win and Man of the Match honors. Great all around effort by a great group of young men.
