The ROC (Resource and Opportunity Center) on East Spring Street in St. Marys has a lot to be thankful for as we approach the holiday season. On October 1 we celebrated the one-year anniversary of being opened for business. The support we’ve received has been overwhelming. We truly appreciate the encouragement we’ve received from people in the community, from city officials, from civic organizations and from the churches. Our prayer is that everything we say and do glorifies God while enriching St. Marys and the surrounding areas. Recently we held a quarter auction to 1) raise funds to continue programs already in existence and 2) to reach further into the community to meet the needs as they present themselves. We feel compelled to thank all who were involved in the auction. There were almost 100 people in attendance and we thank you all for coming out and participating in this “FUN”Raiser. We had 20 volunteers who helped before and during the auction – thank you!! A very special thank you to the trustees of Noble Township for keeping the prior Noble School in such great shape. It was a perfect venue with great parking, large kitchen facilities, and plenty of space. A secret “thank you” goes out to a wonderful man who knows what he did for us in regards to the hall but has chosen to remain anonymous. Thank you to all of the following businesses and individuals who donated goods and services that helped make this event a huge success! Glowing Glass Design, Julie Metz, Buds Chevrolet, Pizza Hut, Lima Symphony Orchestra, Guarnieri Pizzeria, Dixie Moots, Cisco Realty, Joyce Koenig, Dominos Pizza, Evelyn Jurosic-Pampered Chef, Hudson Jewelers, Ace Hardware, The Gathering, Toni Beener-Digital Art, Brandi Hullinger-Scentsy, Hairline, Aimee Wicker, Raeh Harrod-His N Hers, Ron and Kathy Gorby-Howard Johnson’s of Lima, We Can Too, Albert Sporting Goods, Joint Township Hospital Gift Shop, Marcie Taylor, The Cornerstone Shop, Chris Wibbeler, Newport Aquarium, Island Dress Shoppe, Topsy Turvy Toys, Sue Wolfe, Pony Keg, Beverly Schwartz, Jean Smith, Moulton Country Store, Koenig Insurance Agency, Sandy Fry, Dixie Durkee, Spring Flowers, Ellen Adams, Minster Bank, A & K Bakery, Glamorously Gluten Free, Believe Art from the Heart, Melissa Lunz-Thirty One, Lowe’s, Cincinnati Reds and the special “Friends of the ROC”.
