The Ramp from Route 32 to Eastgate Boulevard is OPEN - over the tunnel. The tunnel, see the blue line, will open in about 5 weeks. The ramp from Eastgate Boulevard to Route 32 will open in 4 months - see the red and blue lines. The final half of Eastgate Boulevard Bridge will open in 4 weeks or less. The exit from Route 32 next to McDonalds is closed forever. Barriers and orange barrels will disappear from route 32 soon. This will open up traffic lanes and congestion. A LOT of the workers live in Union Township or very close to the area. We have to admit, this project has been VERY smooth. Coordination and execution have been impressive. As they wrap up the big chunks of construction, most should enjoy the end result. They do have a year of projects around the highway and flyover, but do not expect major impacts on traffic. Union Township and the Union Township police are working daily to move traffic and controlling the stop lights has made it smooth. Construction and revitalization continue around the Township. Childrens Hospital and other major construction projects are schedule to start soon. The area was deserted and sad when we moved in. The energy and excitement in the area is fantastic!
