But most importantly, would Sony, Total, Rolex or anyother global brand sponsor the event with the kind of money it would if the event was to be held in - say - Seoul or Monaco or Madrid or Struttgart or Singapore? What would then make Machakos a winner in the hosts bidding war? In my humble opinion, Mutua ought to have started off with stuff like boreholes and revamping of extension services, improving the road network and education facilities. You know, the basic foundation stuff for sustainable maendeleo. On the contrary, he is speaking of formular one circuits and cloning hollywood when theres not even a single theatre or arts gallery in the whole of Machakos county. We are painting cracks with bright colours insted of repairing them.
