The Real Unknown Written a minute ago by Mike Tennancour Monday I had a CT scan done. On Tuesday, we hadnt heard anything and decided to go to Towner; all medical offices knew that if they called the house and no one answered - call Mems cell. I hadnt seen the grandkids there in at least two months. Got to Minot in time to see Brodey play two basketball games. Good long shot. We went to Towner then. When we took off from Sidney, I had a feeling I may have a bug. On the way there I wore my heaviest jacket and covered with a blanket. We got to Towner early evening, and the first thing I had to do was go to bed and cover with 2 more blankets. For a while we wondered if it was a mistake going. BUT - if we hadnt no one would have know Curts water heater had rusted thru. We stayed there until Friday afternoon. Until that time, Mem had to mop two floors until it finally drained out in to a drain. The only thing I could do was get up for an hour or two, back to bed. I didnt see the grandkids until Thursday night. Wednesday morning I threw up, and back to bed. While I was down for the count Dr. Nieva called on Mems cell. Mem told me most of what he said - guess he talked fast and used big words. What I remember her telling me was something like intestines, a spot on the liver, hernia, and a few other things. He wanted me to go to Billings for a PET scan, and he sounded urgent. Mem informed him where we are and that Minot and Bismarck have PET scans and are closer. He was going to see if he can change it and call her back. Friday morning (around 3:00 a.m.) I had a fever. Okay, it was 103.+. I didnt wasnt to disturb Mem, so I checked it again at 4:00. It was down to 100.+ - safe. At 8:00 it was 8.6. Mem chewed me out. I felt like I needed to lie down, but threw up again. My day was done. On the way home, Mem kept calling the Sidney Cancer Center to get the update and kept getting the answering machine. We got home and, sure enough, there was a message. It was from Dr. Nievas secretary, Amanda, and the message left for me to get a hold of them at 435-7330. She called at 9:36 a.m. The instructions, which are very clear and very stressed: If you reach their answering machine, call Memory Tennancours cell. If that call was saying we could have it done in Minot or Bismarck; there will be trouble. If it says be there first thing Monday, listen out your door as you just MAY hear me. Lets see how next week begins! The possibility of something being wrong is great, and could be fatal. I need to meet Amanda in person. Please everyone have a nice weekend. Love all of you!
