The Real deal: Gareth Bale is set to cash in at Madrid Gareth Bale has agreed a stunning £97million contract to join Real Madrid. The Spanish club are set to announce the world-record £86m signing of Bale, which means the cost of the deal will total around £183m. Bale will sign a six-year, £310,000-a-week contract to complete his move from Tottenham to the Bernabeu and wear the No.11 shirt for Real. The 52 per cent tax laws in Spain mean Bale will take home £150,000-a-week. It would put the 24-year-old just behind Real’s highest earner Cristiano Ronaldo, who is demanding a pay rise to sign a new contract. Real set Ronaldo’s release clause at around £855m, and will insert a similarly huge buy-out fee into Bale’s deal to scare off Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco in future years. A stage has already been erected at the Bernabeu in preparation for Bale’s presentation to the Real fans
