The Reality of Rescue: Herbie’s Story Herbie is a petite little girl who came into rescue in February 2013 because two very special fosters opened their heart and their home to her. It is because of these fosters, that Herbie was given a chance, a chance most people would have never given her. Ruff Start Happy Tails was notified that Herbie was being kept crated 24/7 and was being taunted by individuals in the home. The conditions were subpar to say the least and Catherine and Bill stepped up right away and welcomed a special little girl not only into their home, but their life. They took Herbie under their wing and ultimately showed her what unconditional love was all about. It has been a year and a half and I CAN tell you that these amazing fosters stepped up to the plate and did everything they could possibly do to rehabilitate Herbie. Herbie has been shown love, has been given a safe place to call home, and has had two amazing fosters to show her what life should have always been like. Herbie came to us young but after a year and a half it is now apparent that she cannot be saved. Rescue is never easy and these situations tug at the heart, especially for two fosters who have literally gone above and beyond for her. Tonight all I ask is for your love, your thoughts, and your prayers…not only for Herbie but for two people who took her in and showed her love
