The Red Onion Burgers has created a model of community outreach - TopicsExpress

The Red Onion Burgers has created a model of community outreach and contribution that is well worth copying. I am going to embrace it in order to duplicate it in my worlds. The Red Onion Model of social good. Go Sean and LaRae! This is from their posting. Less than 48 hour ago I was on f/b when the idea hit me that we can do something for our neighbors to the north of us. First of all I want to thank all of our employes for donating their time today. I also want to thank all of the volunteers that helped us today. I also want to thank Social Media, television and radio for getting the word out. I was hoping to write a check for more than $1,500, LaRae was hoping that we could write a check for more than $5,000. With that said I am proud to say that we surpassed all expectations and will be donating $5,543 toward the victims of the OSO Mud Slide. At the last minute KIRO asked us to help with lunches for the First response. Most of the money will be split between the Red Cross and Jesse Jones providing gas cards to the victim. I would like to ask all of those that shared this event to let your friends know how much we appreciate their participation and support. I am honored that Red Onion Burgers has a base that steps up to the plate with little notice. Thank You to all that participated and gave. While Mountlake Terrace is the Gateway to Snohomish County - we are able to extend our arm and help our fellow neighbors to the north.
