The Redhead & the DJ: A tribute to Lara Long and Adam Goldstein Lara Long lived all of her life in Philadelphia, with the exception of two years in San Francisco. Her online clothing and housewares business, Plaid Pony Vintage, earned notice from both stylish locals and the press from 2004 until 2011, when Lara became ill. She passed away three years ago. Laras brother Adam Goldstein also grew up in Philly. Best known as DJ AM, he scratched on albums for artists including Madonna and Will Smith, performed on stage with Jay-Z, and co-owned a management company called Deckstar with fellow DJ Steve Aoki. Adam survived a plane crash in 2008. He died in August of 2009. Laras husband and Adams brother-in-law is Benjamin Long. He chose to remember them with a contribution to Rooster Soup Co., choosing as his Reward a tribute donut created especially with Lara and Adam in mind. Look for The Redhead & the DJ fancy donut to appear at all four Federal Donuts locations this fall for one calendar month.
