The Review Centre 14/07: “only interested in money” Written on: 13/07/2014 by Porteri328 (1 review written) I responded to a promotion to try Findmypast for one month for $1. I really never had time to try it in that time frame so planned to cancel the day before it would be renewed until I could find more time in my schedule. The morning of the day before the renewal date I received an e-mail that I had been charged for the next month. I wrote to them immediately through e-mail (although they have a CA location, I saw no option to contact by telephone) and requested that my credit card not be charged since the renewal was not due until the following day. Their policies say customers receive a response to e-mail within a few days. Findmypast NEVER responded to me and did not credit my account. I immediately went online and ensured that the auto-renew button was OFF - they conveniently put it ON for you and my card was not charged the following month. My credit card company (Chase Bank) credited me for the monthly amount so I did not have to pay it. Just last week Findmypast sent me an e-mail wondering why I have not been accessing the site - I plan to tell them why. It is extremely distressing the number of complaints that are arising from what once were reputable genealogy Web sites. I will not use this company again. Value For Money (one star) Comment on this review Raineshoes Comment Written on: 13/07/2014 You are not alone, we are all jumping ship. The service is now terrible. Used to be such a good genealogy site but now is bottom of the stack. reviewcentre/Online-Genealogy/FindMyPast-co-uk-www-findmypast-co-uk--review_2732741
