The Richmond Times-Dispatch has provided a review of the Urban Land Institutes Technical Assistance Panel that convened on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. I am very grateful to ULI and the Citys Economic & Community Development staff for making this opportunity available and for engaging residents of the surrounding community. The neighborhood task force was able to spend time reviewing their criteria for redevelopment for the stadium for purposes other than a sportsplex. After two days, 3 proposals were submitted that referenced and respected the communitys wishes. A final report will be submitted and shared with the neighboring civic associations. In the meantime, the Hunden study of revitalization of City Stadium as a sportsplex is due to the Economic & Community Development staff any day. This will also be provided to the civic associations. Both the ULI and Hunden reports will be used as the neighbors engage Storefront for Community Design in its public engagement and visioning workshops that will be scheduled for the coming months. Thank you again to all who were involved in the intensive two day ULI Technical Assistance Panel and for the volunteers who traveled from Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia to participate.
