The Right to protest is enshrined in our law.. The right of RTE to openly insult is not.. We are a nation are quiet on the daily struggle that is living in Ireland, so when a group stands forward to fight for the each person, when out state will not .. and then see RTE call a peaceful protest intermingled with our national representatives Idiots behind you it is time to halt their Gallop... so with that I have sent this letter to [email protected] I would like all to have a read over the journalism guildlines of RTE and watch this video .. you judge .. has RTE been offering a fair and ballanced view I would like to lodge a complaint against Mr Dobson of RTE 6 one news The Complaint refers to comments made during the 6 one news dated 28 November 2013, regarding a protester highlighting a bill that was before Dail Eireann that night.. I would like to highlight that his comments were not alone a slur upon the character of this protester but a direct breach of the Section 39 of the 2009 Broadcasting Act, As defined under RTEs Journalism guidelines of 2012. I would also like to ask how it is that as an individual I was able to make the journey from over a hundred miles away, but RTE felt that this bill, the people who support this bill, the politicians who left Dail Eireann prior to and post Debate and Voting on this bill was not of noteworthy cause to send even one camera. The Words of Mr Dobson, as I mentioned are a breach of standards in his position, due to their personal nature and as such I would ask that at the very least that an apology for his comments be made during the news report tomorrow. Perhaps it would be more appropriate for the cameras of RTE to move out side of Dublin, to visit those in Ireland who are going hungry, the increasing numbers feeling suicidal, those being evicted by councils and banks, Banks who are supported by the very bonds this placard mentions. As Mr Dobson will no doubt remember the standards as displayed by his predecessors, should be upheld, and not the standards of broadcasting one may see in a pirate radio station. I Trust this will be taken seriously, from your station, we have seen many labels placed upon protesters, to call one who is acting to highlight the many, including elected representatives is abhorrent in any state that chooses to describe itself as a democracy.
