In alphabetical order: Paul Butterfield Blues Band Chic Deep Purple Peter Gabriel Hall and Oates KISS LL Cool J Nirvana N.W.A The Meters The Replacements Linda Ronstadt Cat Stevens Link Wray Yes The Zombies Eight of the acts have been nominated before, but its a first time for the remaining eight. The first-time nominees are Peter Gabriel (as a solo artist; he is already in the Hall as a member of Genesis), Hall and Oates, Nirvana, The Replacements, Linda Ronstadt, Link Wray, Yes and The Zombies. Voting will be done by more than 600 people from the music industry -- musicians, historians, record company staffers -- as well as (for the second year) fans. Fan voting begins tomorrow (Wednesday) through December 10th at RockHall/vote, RollngStone and USAToday. The Top 5 artists selected by the public will constitute a “fans’ ballot” that will be tallied along with the other ballots to choose the 2014 inductees. To be eligible for induction an act had to release its first recording at least 25 years ago.
