The Roentgens Berlin Secretary Cabinet. Possibly one of the greatest items of cabinetry ever built. Mind blowing that this was built, by hand, in 1775. I have a lot to learn about this trade still! The architecture of this desk is incredible - hidden drawers, easels - the works. Constructed from oak, pine, walnut, mahogany, cherry, and cedar, veneered with curly maple, burl maple and mahogany (both stained), and with marquetry in maple (partially stained), hornbeam, apple, walnut, mulberry, tulipwood, and rosewood; ivory, mother–of–pearl, gilt bronze, brass, steel, iron, and silk. youtu.be/MKikHxKeodA
