The Rogue Prince, or, the Kings Brother: Yesterday George R. R. Martin announced Rogues, a new anthology that will follow up on his previous anthologies, Warriors and Dangerous Women. Once again co-edited by Gardner Dozois, Rogues will feature 20+ original short stories by a collection of popular, crossgenre authors, including Neil Gaiman and Patrick Rothfuss. Rogues will be published by Bantam Spectra on June 17, 2014. As if a summer release of a previously unannounced book wasnt surprising enough, consider this: GRRM will also contribute to Rogues a new story set in the world of Ice and Fire (and ironically it will be released months earlier than his much-hyped World of Ice and Fire). The Rogue Prince, or, the Kings Brother will focus on Prince Daemon Targaryen, whom you may remember from The Princess and the Queen. This time, though, the historical account -- as told by Archmaester Gyldayn, naturally -- will detail the calamitous events leading up to the dance of the dragons, and particularly Daemons relationship with King Viserys I.
