The Rosetta Mission is making a huge historical change to the Comet theories... BUT!!! I must add that this is not the first comet weve observed... AND!!! Unlike the mission to Ison... We have an orbiter and a lander on this one... Ison took out the last orbiter we sent to chase a comet... NOW!!! To put things into perspective... Ison in my opinion, not that it really matters, was a dirty ice ball with some solid stone fragments and dust, 67p we knew from a long distance away wasnt the same as Ison. Ison spewwed a huge ploom of gas and dust as it came in to the inner solar system. 67p did no such thing, it was barely spewwing anything when it reached Jupiter. This is how we are getting very clear pictures of the surface and poor Philae is stuck on 67p leaning at an angle tucked away in a crevice sleeping till next year when she is by the sun where Philae will be exposed at least 80 something percent of the time. This happened because they didnt bother to really do their home work to put it simple, they just got Rosetta there and HEY DROP PHILAE NOW!!! They should of surveyed the comet prior to dropping, I mean all they claimed was that Rosetta circled it while topographically photographing it, they never LOOKED very hard at the images. It was a, OH HERE LOOKS GOOD and drop... Then thats when they discovered that the type of surface 67p has wasnt what they imagined... She is pure rock... Philaes Landing system worked great... TOO GREAT and the lock down system slightly failed but who would of guessed its a solid rock or several rocks squashed together... LOL! Keep an eye on this story cause its only gonna get weirder I suspect...
