The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary has received 300 high visibility vests from Australia to improve the visibility and safety of police on operations. The Papua New Guinea – Australia Policing Partnership organised the delivery of the vests, which are part of a donation by the New South Wales Police Force of 1500 high visibility vests to Pacific nations. Fifty of the vests are being used by the RPNGC Traffic Section. Assistant Commissioner Alan Scott, in ceremoniously handing over a vest to Acting Chief Inspector Phillip Koliadi , emphasised the importance for the Traffic Section to remain visible and safe whilst on duty, envisaging that the vests will boost morale and provide an increased level of conspicuousness during traffic operations. The AFP advisors work closely with their RPNGC counterparts in Police Stations and departments in Port Moresby and Lae in all areas of policing.
