The Royal Ploughing Ceremony marks the beginning of the rice-growing season in Cambodia. The King leads the ceremonial procession while the queen sows the seeds. Rice is the staple crop and many lives and livelihoods depend on a good growing season. The governor of the province approached Sak Saum saying that, “really good fruit grows in Saang!” Sak Saum is thrilled to be selected as the representative for Kandal Province at the ceremony! Sak Saum staff will be seated among their government leaders, including the King and Queen. This ceremony, that is important to so many, is not open to the public. Our girls and guys are so excited to be able to participate on Saturday! -JHG
