The SC Farm Bureau Federation welcomes Ashlee Newman of Sumter, SC to our staff today. Ashlee is our new fulltime Young Farmer and Rancher program coordinator. While she is new to the staff, she is no stranger to Farm Bureau. Ashlee was the Federation’s female Youth Ambassador in 2011. She has attended a number of SCFBs routine meetings and conferences since then including our Youth Leadership Conf, Young Farmer and Rancher conferences, our annual meetings, and Women’s Leadership meetings and events. Ashlee is a 2013 graduate of Erskine College with majors in Political Science and Biology. She has also taken ag classes at Clemson University. Before joining the Farm Bureau team, Ashlee worked on her family’s row crop and poultry farm. Russell Ott will maintain his involvement with the YF&R program as a consultant and will provide leadership and advocacy training and help promote YF&R competitive events. SCFB Ag Literacy Director Vonne Knight is coordinating SCFBs Women and Youth Leadership programs along with her work with SCFBs Ag in the Classroom program.
