The SRD indoor melody contest and culture evening will take place on Saturday 11th of October. Venue will be Carrickfergus town hall. Doors open 12 noon. Fully licenced bar facilities with cheap prices. The day will be opened up by Ballykeel loyal sons of ulster while the stage is set up for contesting bands. During the contest there will be an interval to allow the independent judge time for a break. During this period CWA brass band will be on stage to entertain. The evening of the event will start straight after the contest with trophies being awarded to the winning bands. The entertainment for the evening is the group Maiden City Beat from Londonderry, and guest Blood and thunder band, Ballycraigy old boys. Bands confirmed for contest so far are... Pride of Ballinran, Killkeel Cookstown Sons of William Omagh Protestant Boys Lisburn Young Defenders William King Memorial, Londonderry Pride Of the Raven Sir George White Memorial, Broughshane.
