"The Saints - Part I" By: Alf Cengia There seems to be a lot of confusion these days over who is who in the Bible. There are those who subscribe to belief that once the Jews rejected their Messiah, that all the blessings and covenants were transferred to the Church (Replacement theology). There are those who believe the opposite of that, in saying that once we become believers in Christ, we join the already existing body of spiritual Israel and become grafted into simply the ‘elect’ body of Jewish believers (Hebrew Roots). Lastly, you have the ‘venerated’ saints who fill the annals of Roman Catholic history…and are usually only reserved for the most holy of popes, nuns, and other Catholic icons. As to the prophetic aspect of this, there are also those who reject the doctrine of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture. They do this because they believe that the Church (those Christians who came to Christ after His Resurrection) have to go through the Tribulation. They often point to the use of the word ‘saints’ and cite verses from the Olivet Discourse and in Revelation 7, 13, 16, and 20 to arrive at that conclusion. So who is correct? "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."
