The Scalloping/Fishing Report 7/20/14 There is nothing really to report so far, we have got everything pretty well set up and the RV is unloaded. The boat has not been put in the water yet but we will do that today. The best thing was that we got it all done before the rain set in. It started raining and rained most of the afternoon which made it hard to do anything outside, so Alvin and I took a nap while Mollie went under the dining table while Kathy was on the computer. The rain finally let up about 3 PM and we able to go outside and I took the dogs for a walk; one at a time. Alvin was the first out and it was still raining a little but he seemed to enjoy it quite a bit. He ran around and around me like he was going crazy and I’m sure that it was funny to watch this dog running at top speed in a circle and sometimes sliding down. When I take the dogs out I always take a bag to pick up their droppings and I had one for Alvin. I knew that he hadn’t done his business when I had him out earlier and figured that he would this time. He did in three different locations at three different times and I only had one bag. I was able to get two of the piles in the one bag but had to take him back to the RV for another bag and to get Mollie. Mollie was just as opposite of Alvin as anything can be. She just placidly walked along, sniffing and looking and enjoying being out with me (I think). We located Alvin’s pile and Mollie looked at me with the look that why is that here and I picked it up and disposed of it. Mollie is extremely afraid of thunder and Kathy got her a “thunder shirt” that helps with it a little but she is still afraid of it. It is sort of funny that while we were out walking it thundered a time or two but she pretty well ignored it. I guess if she is on a leash and outside with one of us; it is okay. Our friends Glen and Daisy arrived during the rain and set partially up while it was raining but they are here and that is good. Glen had a brake problem on their RV the day before we left and had to get that fixed before they could leave to come up here. The only two problems that we had were the wiring on Kathy’s car not letting the lights on the boat trailer work correctly and unless it is a simple fix, our friend Chris will fix it when we get home. The other problem was a warning light on the truck come on about halfway up here and I had to look in the book to see what it was. The book stated that it was a “fuel control module” and it was in the “limp home” mode, I never shut the truck off after this until we were unhooked from the RV but I never had any problem driving the truck with that light on, so that will be looked at and fixed before we go home unless Chris calls or texts me and advises that it isn’t a problem. Today will be another easy day and a lot more relaxing, putting the boats in the water, putting the bait traps out, visiting and relaxing. Y’all have a great and wonderful day and remember to take a moment to smell the roses!
