The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund is a supporter of the Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders program (or “EWCL”), an initiative aimed at mentoring and training up-and-coming leaders in the conservation field. EWCL is currently accepting applications for the 2015/2016 class. This program brings together wildlife conservationists flagged by current leaders in the field for their enthusiasm, skills, and vision. The program aims to strengthen a conservationist’s work by providing networking and career mentoring opportunities, training in leadership and wildlife conservation campaigning skills, and project planning and implementing skills. All costs are covered for US-based participants, who will be invited to attend a one-week training course in spring of 2015, and again in spring and winter of 2016. International applicants must be fluent in English and have a committed sponsor to cover round-trip flight costs to all three trainings. This is a competitive process. For more information about EWCL, and the on-line application (due October 31, 2014), please go to WildlifeLeaders.org.
