The Seattle Pike Place Public Market is a national treasure and has survived numerous attempts to close it down. The flying fish is only one of several iconic images, ie: the pig, etc, that we will lose if the viaduct is demolished. The entire public market will be torn down to rebuild condos and high-end office buildings with unobstructed views of Puget Sound. Right now the viaduct is the only structure standing between downtown Seattle and what most would agree is the most astounding view of the snow-capped Olympic Mountains. Now with big Bertha out of commission for several months, we have an opportunity to get politicians to see the real scenario if that tunnel is completed. Lets get active and save the viaduct.
