The Self Defeat called REGRETS. Everyday, I run into someone who is weighed down by one thing or another from their past. Something they always wish they could change and against natural principles wish they had a second chance to undo. Everyone no matter how successful today has something they regret. The difference is they have never allowed that previous experience to distort their response to the future. They have avoided making a secord mistake. They have taken their second chance and moved up beyond their past mistakes. A person who wallows in their regrets gradually becomes stagnated. The significance of Regrets should be in teaching us the moral lessons of failures, it should bolster us into preparations for the next and yet unseen opportunities that do not need our permissions to emerge. That one relationship went wrong is not enough reason to truncate the opportunity that another relationship presents with scepticism and unnecessary impassioned approach. Regrets should inspire innovative thinking aimed at counteracting on future reoccurrences not a disconnect from the entire life and achievement process. To deal with regrets, once and for all, It is important to recognize how ones action or inaction (attitude) led to the particular regret and discover and establish new habits for dealing with and eradicating such attitude. Was it the examinations that you missed? Did you just get too laid back to notice the changes that you should have and could not make the right adjustments? The root cause of regrets is the inability to recognize the relationship between todays opportunities and tomorrows history settings and relate the major clues of tomorrow with the untamed recklessness of today. In having a plan we should incorporate variables but use the constant to control the entire process. The constant is time; it keeps running but never runs out on those willing to make amends for their past mistakes. It is always on the side of the man who recognizes every new day as a second chance to be better than they were the day before. Your past mistakes will only continue to hunt you if you refuse to acknowledge that the damage was already done.
