The Senate Armed Services Committee made multiple revisions to the National Defense Authorization Act that could change the debate on Guantanamo Bay. Thursday, the committee passed several provisions granting the president the authority to close the detention facility while also allowing for the transfer of detainees to the US. The full Senate has yet to debate and vote on the bill, which must be reconciled with the House of Representatives version. RT’s Ameera David discusses the potential implications of the bill with David Remes, an attorney representing several of the detainees held at the facility.
