The Sett list… It was in the first year of its previous incarnation as the Battleground that two farmfestivallers wandered through the tent on their way from the main stage to the bar. witnessed the guitar work on stage and said excitedly. “Oh, wow, it’s a ROCK tent.” The Sett will feature lots of that. We like guitars, pounding drumbeats earthshaking bass and songs that start 1-2-3-4- KRANG… On Friday we’ve got Somerset’s best mod-influenced three piece the Harletts, some slick and punchy Indie from Glass City Vice and Finches Fly, Thundering garage rock from Seafoam and hardcore metal from favourites Awaken the Silence, who always bring the noise, all wrapped up by some proper old-school skate punk from Don’t Do Tuesdays. It won’t be all crashing guitarwork in the afternoons, however Just to lead you in we’ve got some tunes from Tolly Snell, winner of the Some-r-set 4 talent contest, and some gorgeous melodies from Leeds-based Blue Laurel. Saturday we will be running the chilled –out acoustic sets that were such a hit last year, with tunes from Locals Bob Gallie, Lazy Daze, Mr Keep Calm and the Cancelled Cheques, Foreign affairs and Chris Millington, We up the pace with The Entangled Band and blues from Swapgrass before it all goes very festival – longtime festival circuit favourites Elly Tree are coming down from Suffolk, combining Portuguese Fado with dub beats, Billy in the Low Ground – Who were blacked out when the power failed three years ago and kept playing in the dark – Techno –poets Jesus Christ Superstore provide dark dancy rhythms and we finish with some moonstomping ska from Tattsyrup.
