The Shar-Pei! What a mess, many live lives of pain and discomfort with either skin ear or eye problems, some sadly have all these problems and more! Teddy (photo below) is yet another of these dogs brought to us after being bought through an internet sales site. He too needs extensive surgery to relieve the discomfort of his eyes being scratched by his eye lids and lashes. Now we all know how much it irritates to have just one eyelash in your eye, so imagine your eyes being scratched constantly. Teddy has lived with this all his life and it is probable that the operation will not improve his poor sight, due to the amount of damage already done to the surface of his eyes, but it WILL relieve him of his constant discomfort and pain. He is currently in a foster home living with Toffee and Sooty (also seen below), both of which also required surgery when with us. Any donations from Shar Pei (Dog and Animal) lovers towards F.A.I.T.Hs Shar Pei rescue and relief costs would be gratefully received.
