The Shaykh Hears His Mureed Like the Sound of Thunder Mawlana - TopicsExpress

The Shaykh Hears His Mureed Like the Sound of Thunder Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani has often told us that Grandshaykh ‘Abdullah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q) used to say, the Shaykh is able to hear the slightest thoughts of the mureeds from any distance. He said, it is like if there is an ant crawling on the surface of the smoothest rock in the dark of night, he is able to hear its footsteps like thunder. Despite this knowledge they usually conceal their awareness of the mureed’s thoughts, whispers, evil promptings and wrong actions. However on occasion they will show this power, for the wisdom we don’t know, but perhaps most of all to remind the mureed to be careful of bad thoughts towards his shaykh. For Grandshaykh ‘Abdullah al-Fa’iz ad-Daghestani (q) said (paraphrased), “the Shaykh can clean the sins of the mureed with no problem, even if they fill the earth from east to west. But the Shaykh cannot clean the mureed if he has doubts about the Shaykh’s power. In that case the mureed will be dropped and spiritual support removed.” Such incidents happened to me many times in the presence of Mawlana Shaykh Hisham Kabbani. One of the most amazing incidents is when, one autumn Saturday, the sky was overcast and it was cool and leaves covered the ground. I came out of my house and looked at all the leaves and said to myself: “O I must rake up these leaves.” Then I thought “if I have leaves, then there must be so many more at Mawlana’s farm that need raking, I should make that priority.” Immediately my ego jumped up and said, “O but if I go to the farm and rake leaves who is going to rake the leaves here at home. Is Mawlana going to rake them?” Listening to this dark thought, I went and got a rake and began to start raking the leaves in my yard. Suddenly a car drove swiftly around the curve of my street and pulled into my driveway and out from the drivers side jumped Omar Kabbani, Mawlana’s son, and on the other side Mawlana Shaykh Hisham got out. Omar said to me, “O Hajji do you need any help?” I was dumbfounded, and said, “O I am just raking up the leaves.” Omar grabbed a rake and began rapidly and strongly raking the leaves into piles. I never felt so ashamed in my life. Taher Siddiqui
