The Shelby Police Department received word today via Shelby - TopicsExpress

The Shelby Police Department received word today via Shelby Helpline Ministries, that their food pantry was nearly depleted of staple items. The Chief of Police turned to FOP Lodge 180, who also reached out to Shelby IAFF Local 2492. Together, and through individual member donations, we were able to pool nearly a thousand dollars in a few hours to help replenish the pantry. Cornells IGA graciously gave us a discount and Shelby Firefighter Jared Mawhorr, and Police Captain Lance Combs spent over an hour at Cornells IGA shopping for items to donate. Cornells even opened a special lane and gave us two carry outs to help. In the end, we loaded the Shelby Fire pickup truck and delivered a heaping pile of needed items to Helpline. Please join us and consider donating items to Helpline. In the photographs attached to the post, we have taken a picture of a highlighted list of items that are desperately needed. We are also working on organizing a food drive in the near future. Many thanks to our charitable member officers and our brothers at the fire house. A special thanks to Cornells IGA and their employees. Stay tuned.
