The Sierra Club is teaming up with Wild Connections on July 12th - TopicsExpress

The Sierra Club is teaming up with Wild Connections on July 12th and 13th for a volunteer wilderness mapping trip to Waugh Mountain in Fremont County. Want to join us? The landscape boasts high-elevation mixed forests, with the majority of the elevation above 10,000 ft. This unit is a great candidate for proposed wilderness as it offers over 5,000 acres of contiguous roadless lands, also providing a large wildlife corridor to the nearby Pike-San Isabel National Forest. Saturday’s hike will be six miles round-trip, with an optional overnight camp, and the group will map for half a day on Sunday. No previous mapping experience is necessary. If you are interested in this mapping trip or have questions, please contact Matt Reed at [email protected].
