The Simien Mountains in Ethiopia where scientists say there is a greater concentration of melanastic servals. They also say this is because the gene has extra disease fighting properties and it is thought disease maybe affected the normal servals in their evolution in this region, leaving the melanastic around to fight on, and then the usual serval roamed back into the territory. Im curious how the Mel gene affects the charcoal/melanastic charcoal bengal, Maybe too early to say. So interesting. Sahari Savannahs
