The Sixties - The World On The Brink sbs.au/ondemand/video/326997059772 Our generation( those born in the 1990s) is a remarkable generation..you know those who are born between the fall of the Berlin Wall ( disintegration of the Soviet Union) and the 9/11....the end of the Cold War and the beginning of the War on Terror. Ours is like those who are born between the two world wars( or early years of WWII) and maturing in the 1960s( our grandparents generation) ...And i think are greater, wiser and more admirable than the generation of our parents! Sure our parents generation of 1960s are remarkable in their own way with the Vietnam War going on and countercultural revolutions everywhere....If our grandparents generation was about destruction of lives, deconstruction of many social orders and disillusionment with the traditional values...then our parents was more of the age of reawakening. ..the age of ideas....the age of experimentation. What about ours? Ours will be remembered as the age of action...the age of integration and inclusion....the real age of enlightenment in fully empirical scientific sense ( not rational age of enlightenment of the 18th century).I am sure in our lifetimes, the next generations will make doco films like these looking back on the Afghan, the Iraqi wars...the Arab spring,ISIS,..and Ebola virus...but before they could make those films...I am sure our generation in our folly will commit many more mistakes, cause mire wars and deaths..and global conflicts in 40-50 years ahead( a generation before always creates - sows seeds- conditions and causes of war and conflict for the next to come). But of course, not all is miserable...Many of us, even some of you know, will make history...will change the lives of many others....and will contribute something positive to the humanity, to the world - and that should be the legacy of our generation( lesser wars and conflicts than any other before us and more positive impact on our human history).
