The Small and I were playing videos after dinner. I like this one, it makes me a little tearey, and it continues to frustrate me how true, a speach almost as old as me feels. And my small person, who has two gay dads and gets offended and obstinate when people ask where his mother is. Who has spent today at his school in an outfit of his choosing, a pink and purple sparkly skirt and a pink seahorse top, could not relate to it. He, who sings Broadway musicals including and lyrics like its not just for gays anymore off the playground structure could not understand why a gay person might be isolated, or suicidal. He could understand the go to SanFrancisco part. To him, this was too far from his reality to imagine. And its not enough that thats just true for him, but it still makes my heart glad.
