The Snowflake Festival: A Season Celebrating Community Giving Friday, December 6th 5-8pm Grand Marshall - Light of Kingston: Mrs. Evy Larios Snowflake Festival Schedule of Events: Snowflake Festival Parade: line up 4pm @ Dietz Stadium; start-off at 5:00 p.m. Parade Route: Beginning at Dietz Stadium, up North Front Street, onto Fair Street, down Main Street, right onto Wall Street, ending at the intersection of Wall and North Front Streets. Holiday Tree Lighting: Led by Kingston Mayor Shayne Gallo at the intersection of Wall and North Front Streets immediately following the parade. Visit Santa & his Elves: On the grounds of the Senate House State Historic Site Horse and Wagon Rides: FREE - Senate House State Historic Site Santa’s Stocking Trail: Receive a free stocking at the Volunteer Firemen’s Museum (Fair Street) or LGBTQ Center (Wall Street). Stocking Surprises at: Bop to Tottom, Loughran House, Hudson Traders, Deitz Stadium Diner and Kingston Candy Bar (handing out tasty reindeer noses!). Tour Local Museums: Fred Johnson Museum, Volunteer Fireman’s Museum, Loughran House Storytelling: Uptown Gallery (296 Wall Street) with Rebecca Henderson, Children’s Author Holiday Movies: 43 North Front Street; @7pm Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer & @8pm Elf (Rated PG – Parental Guidance suggested – some material may not be suitable for children) Christmas Treats: Tonner Doll, Fireman’s Museum, Senate House, Hudson Traders, Uptown Gallery. Victorian Carolers: Strolling throughoutthe Stockade Reception for Grand Marshall & KHS Jazz Band: Fred Johnson Museum; 7pm Shop: Uptown stores & Boutiques Dine: Restaurants – Boitson’s, The Stockade, Santa Fe, Rene’s Bistro, Dominick’s, Le Canard and more! A Season Celebrating Community Giving: Please celebrate community giving this holiday season by donating to one of our 2 chosen charities November 18th – December 18th: People’s Place & New Coats for Kids People’s Place: Donate new, unwrapped toys for children ages infant – 12 years. Toy drop-offs are: Dietz Stadium Diner, Murphy Realty, Rhinebeck Bank, People’s Place, The Loughran House, on the grounds of The Senate House State Historic Site (11/18 – 12/18), and Friends of Historic Kingston’s Fred Johnson Museum (Friday 12/6 only). All toys will be distributed to children in Ulster County. New Coats for Kids: Donate new coats for children Pre-K to High School Seniors in the Kingston School System. Coat drop-off’s at Outdated Antique Café, all Rondout Savings Bank locations and George Washington Elementary School, 67 Wall Street.
