The Socratic Midrash: A Weekly Challenge If observation of, and obedience to, those Torah portions which have been clearly depicted as eternal (or requisite upon all generations) and non-specific to a particular class of persons subsequent to our redemption amounts to legalism within our current age of Grace (despite the fact that legalism, by definition, would demand such obedience prior to redemption), then why (notwithstanding the various traditions of practice and worship demanded by contemporary denominational Christianity) are there 1,050 individual commandments, stipulations, and -- yes -- laws contained within New Testament passages alone; themselves based in content upon the regulatory moral and institutional commission of Torah?
