The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn - TopicsExpress

The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation (Colossians 1:15). Image means a perfect replica, a precise copy, or exact representation of. Jesus Christ is the perfect copy of Deity. So, you ask this question, what is God like? Jesus is the express duplicate of God. In today’s language, Jesus is God’s selfie. Jesus is the fullness of God in bodily form. That’s why one minute he’s thirsty and then the next minute he’s calming the raging storm in the sea. That’s why one minute he’s hungry and then the next minute he’s multiplying bread and fish. That’s why one minute he’s sleepy and tired and then the next minute he woke up from the grave. When God the Father speaks, Jesus’ voice reverberates! God became a man to reconcile; to reconcile God with people and people with God. God is perfect and Jesus came into the imperfect to reconcile us with God. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6).
