The South African government, in their wisdom, has decided that in order to protect the rhino population from poachers, they will be selling 260 rhino to 3 HUNTING outfits in the Northern Cape. So instead of having the poachers kill them (and of course not paying for them), they will allow trophy hunters to kill them (and of course, the Government will get paid for them). This is a most outrageous move. The SA government refused an offer from Botswana who were prepared to give them a safer place to live, but this offer was refused as the Botwanan offer did not include payment of said rhinos.
