The Sri Lanka Lawyers Cricket team which participated in the 4th Lawyers Cricket World Cup in Delhi, India returned to the Island on 24th October. Sri Lanka finished up in 3rd Place of the Tournament which was eventually won by Pakistan at the internationally acclaimed Firoz Shah Kotla Stadium by defeating India convincingly. Sri Lanka beat Australia, England and West Indies but lost to India and Pakistan thereby missing out on the opportunity to reach the finals. It is with great pride that we report that Yohan Jinasena of the Sri Lankan team was adjudged the player of the tournament for his consistent performances throughout the tournament. This achievement is an immense honour to Sri Lanka given that this tournament featured several big and star studded names in the lawyers cricket circuit. Sri Lanka also made the highest team total in a match in this tournament by scoring 336 runs in 30 overs against England. The other highlight for Sri Lanka in the World Cup.
