The Standoff in Kimball, South Dakota. Wednesday, 1-7-15, Donald London, 42, along with Michael London, 62, barricaded themselves in a residence on 360th Ave. about three miles north of Kimball. They contacted the Brule County Sheriff Office and made threatening statements. Sheriff office and Highway Patrol responded to the residence. When the officers attempted to make contact with the Londons, shots were fired at the officers. Highway Patrol Sargent John Koenig, a 28 year veteran, was shot. He was taken to the hospital and is listed in stable condition this morning, 1-8-15. Michael London, 66, exited the residence at approximately 8 p.m. He was taken into custody and has been charged with aggravated assault of law enforcement. They are unsure of the relationship between Michael and Donald London. Several agencies are on the scene. We will try make updates when they become available.
